- Galadima has been one of the major voices against President Buhari’s re-election

- The R-APC chairman said it is incorrect for anyone to say he has left the APC

Despite his vigorous and consistent campaigns against President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election and being an outspoken spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Buba Galadima insists he is still a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Galadima said this on Channels TV programme, “The Verdict” on Thursday, February 21 while fielding questions from the programme anchor.

Atiku is the presidential candidate of the main opposition party, PDP, and is considered the major opponent to President Buhari’s second term bid.

Galadima is believed to be a former associate of President Buhari who has turned out to be a major voice against the president’s re-election.

Galadima explained that he is still maintaining his position as the chairman of the Reformed APC (R-APC), a faction of the ruling APC, despite being Atiku’s spokesperson.

His words: “You have just opined that I have left the APC and I don’t think that is correct. I am still in the APC. I am a spokesman for the PDP presidential candidate.”

“I am the national chairman of the R-APC. We have a memorandum of understanding with the PDP to produce a very good and excellent candidate that will deliver Nigeria and that is not questionable in law. Unless you will show me any statute of Nigeria that says if you are a member of another party, you cannot support another candidate.”

Galadima urged Nigerians to vote for “the preferred candidate of the country, who is leading by at least 12 points against the president, that is the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He is the next President, Insha Allah, of Nigeria.”

“He’s got the support of Nigerians, he’s got the support of every sector (of) Nigeria, irrespective of region, tribe or religion. Nigerians are for us. We believe that if there is a level playing ground, if there is fairness, Atiku Abubakar will emerge as the next president of Nigeria come Saturday 23rd of February,” he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Galadima predicted victory for Atiku in the northwest, saying he will beat President Buhari with a margin of 60 to 40% in the region.

He added that Atiku will divide the votes 50 to 50 with Buhari even in Katsina, the president’s home state.

He said: “Atiku will defeat Buhari 60 to 40 on the minimum. The only place it would be 50-50 is Katsina.

“In the southwest, I want to say with certainty, the Yoruba people respect their leaders, they will not vote from sentiments.”
