- Four officers of the Ondo state command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency have reportedly been killed by suspected drug peddlers

Emerging reports have claimed that four officers of the Ondo state command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency in Ifon, headquarters of Ose local government area of the state have been killed by suspected drug peddlers.

The Nation reports that the incident happened on Sunday night, February 17, when the suspects who were three in number carried AK47 rifles attacked the NDLEA officers who were on patrol.

Sources said the hoodlums also burnt the official vehicle of the Agency used for patrol in the area. They were said to have emerged on a motorcycle and shot the four NDLEA officers on the chest, but one of the officers narrowly escaped into the bush.


The dead NDLEA officers are Abduljalad Mohammed, Wellinton Emmanuel, Magaji Aliu and Mohammed lliyasu.

Femi Joseph, the state police public relations officer, a superintendent of police, who confirmed the incident, said the police would collaborate with the NDLEA to bring the culprits to book.

Joseph said the state police command was investigating the incident, with a view to bringing the culprits to book.

He assured that those who perpetrated the devilish act would be apprehended and prosecuted adding that the NDLEA and the police would work together to ensure that justice was done on the matter soonest.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has been killed by suspected criminals in Kano.

Three others were wounded in the process. Mohammad Abdullah, NDLEA chairman disclosed this on Friday, January 5. He said the incident occurred when one of its patrol teams approached a road block in the city.



Abdullah, however, claimed that it was not immediately certain whether the gunmen were drug traffickers or robbers.

Commander, Kano NDLEA, Hamza Umar who she more light on the incident said that the late officer was shot on the back. He further disclosed that the late officer had been laid to rest.
