Top Ivorian musician Houon Ange Didier popularly known by the stage name DJ Arafat recently passed away to the dismay of his fans.
The talented Coupé-décalé singer died after he was involved in an ugly road accident while riding his power bike.
The fatal accident reportedly took place on Sunday, August 11, and the singer was confirmed dead after he was rushed to the hospital.
Well, Legit.ng has gathered four strange coincidences surrounding the late singer’s demise.
1. Day of death
The day of Arafat started on Saturday, August 10 and ended on August 11. Well, the Ivorian singer died on the day of Arafat, August 11, just like his name.
2. His last song
One of DJ Arafat’s last songs was titled Moto Moto which is about motorcycles. Coincidentally, the singer passed on as a result of an accident he had on his motorcycle.
3. His debut single
DJ Arafat’s debut single was titled Hômmage A Jonathan which was about the death of his friend with the same name. The track was a tribute to the late Jonathan and the video clip was shot at a motorcycle show held at the burial of his friend. The track is said to have been responsible for shooting him to limelight and some people have termed it to mean his beginning and end was on a motorcycle.
4. How he died
It was gathered that DJ Arafat was known for his dislike of journalists and that the dislike was mutual. Interestingly, the singer is said to have died after he collided with a journalist’s car.
Despite the speculations fans have raised about his death, there is no doubt that he would be greatly missed.
After the singer's death was announced several people trooped to social media to send their condolence messages. Also reacting the news of DJ Arafat’s death, Nigerian singer David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, shared two different posts on micro blogging platform Twitter.
Davido in his first post had expressed disbelief at the news.
