Lagosians on Twitter have condemned the clearing of trucks, and tankers off Lagos roads in anticipation of the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state on Saturday.

On Friday, Lagosians woke up to find the roads free of tankers and trucks, who had taken up permanent residence on the roads for some time now.

They shared their frustration at having to deal with the menace of the tankers on a daily basis, only for the tankers to disappear, due to the visit of the president.

This clearing of trucks is an insult sha

Especially with the pain it’s caused Lagosians for so long

They said Lagos needed to align with the central. Okay Lagos aligned with central but tankers are parked on the road and Lagosians are crying. Lagosians are sheep ☹️????????‍♀️

I don’t think you guys understand the implications of trailers, tankers and containers being cleared overnight in Lagos for Marathons and PRESIDENTIAL visits.

There is a solution but they don’t care enough about your quality of life to give you better. WILD!

Good morning @Gidi_Traffic n family
Quick question… as per the cleared trucks/tankers/trailers.
Who is *doing us* in Lagos?
The Governor and his government? or The President & Federal government? ????????????

— TTaryour (@teimee007) February 9, 2019

If Trailers, Tankers and Containers are being cleared overnight in Lagos for Lagos Marathons and PRESIDENT @MBuhari visits.

Then There is a solution but they don’t care enough about our quality of lives to give you and I a better and well deserved one !!! @Gidi_Traffic

It took the president’s visit for APC Lagos to clear the tankers along Yaba – Apapa axis; this is not a laudable move.

If there was a solution long before now, why wait till his visit to proffer?
@APCNigeria Wrong move.

— Honourable Akin (@SeyiAkinjinmi) February 9, 2019

Because Buhari is coming to Lagos, all the tankers have been cleared????????
At least I’ve found one thing to be grateful for him for

— Mayen???? (@_kristianaa_) February 8, 2019

Please let’s vote out APC. These guys don’t care about us. The tankers on #EkoBridge are out because President is coming to campaign in Lagos. Tinubu and his people should be voted out.

— Olu P (@olup_official) February 8, 2019

Ambode is the #GOAT!!!

Doesn’t respect Lagos citizen’s lives until @APCNigeria rally. So ikorodu road, inward surulere can be free of tankers and container trailers like the air we breathe?

— Otunba Kratos GoW 1 (@OtunbaGodOfWar) February 8, 2019

When tankers were cleared last weekend to allow for Lagos marathon, there was no outcry of inaction. Done for PMB and now the partisan tales and wailing. At least we all agree Container economy is destroying Nigeria. It benefits no one beyond Chinese and Importers. pic.twitter.com/c3G8HCNwGt

These politicians actually cleared the bridge of tankers because the president is coming to Lagos .wonderful

— Procurement Lad (@LadProcurement) February 9, 2019

It took me 17mins to get to Lagos Island from Surulere.

Apparently the tankers are off Awolowo road through to Eko bridge but they wouldn’t be off the road for long as they can be seen in residential areas.

These people don’t rate us and we do the most for them ????????
